Billy Kametz, a well-known voice actor in the anime and video game industry, died from Colon Cancer at the age of 35.
The agency Point of Contact reported his death in a tweet, writing, "With tremendous and heartbroken regret, we must inform you of the passing of @BillyKametz."
The actor was well-known in the anime and video game industries, most notably as Naofumi Iwatani in the 2019 anime The Rising of the Shield Hero.
Kametz won Best Voice Actor Performance (EN) at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards for that performance.
In Ninento games, he was the voice of Ferdinand Von Aegir in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Heroes, and also Blue in Pokémon Masters.
He also voiced many characters in anime series such as Attack on Titan, Boruto, Demon Slayer, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Pokémon Journeys and Neon Genesis Evangelion.
There is presently no update on the status of Billy Kametz's involvement in the upcoming project Brawl Stars.
However, he leaves behind a large body of work that demonstrated his skill as a performer.
Billy Kametz will be remembered lovingly by his friends, family, and fans, and his death at such a young age is heartbreaking.
